I was unsure about doing this post as I knew it would take a lot of time and my memory isn’t that good but 2013 has been a fab year and I feel like this blog has achieved some amazing goals. I recently reached 1,000 followers which is just insane to think of 1,000 individual people. I’m now halfway through my degree which is also insane as it’s all just gone so quickly and I’ve even managed to sneak in a couple (or four) holidays in. I’m hoping this post (which is rather long – oops) is something I can do annually and look back on in years to come.
This month brought the first of many trips to London in which I visited the Hollywood Costume and Valentino exhibitions. I also ended up been poorly for most of the month and scuppered off home for a couple of weeks. It was a very quiet month for me blogging-wise.
A big month for me with a University trip to Paris which saw me attend Premiere Vision, visit all the sights and eat incredible food. Me and my Mum also took a girly trip to London and saw The Bodyguard. Uni saw me complete a Visual Merchandising module which I was proud of!
I attended my first event as press in March, Birmingham’s International Fashion Week and also attended Harvey Nichols’ S/S Fashion Show. I also completed an internship at Gap on the Visual Merchandising team and I even managed to squeeze in a little trip to Bruges on the ferry.
I was at home for most of April and this saw me focus myself to blogging a bit more. I said bye-bye to my ombre locks and also I visited Leeds Trinity Centre and Bicester Village which was exciting but nothing beat seeing Beyonce live. I could go on about it for hours but I’m seeing her again in Feb so you can hear about it again then.
This month seemed all over the place with deadlines to meet, concerts, birthdays and a trip to the Zoo. I saw Lana Del Rey live and judging by my Instagram ate a lot of Chinese food and explored Birmingham a lot more than ever by getting lost a lot of times.
I finished my first year at University which was a big achievement. Before returning home I went to Graduate Fashion Week even hung out with the lads from Made In Chelsea. Returning home saw shopping trips with Mum and a last-minute trip to Manchester.
The month of sun, I jetted off to Lanzarote for a couple of weeks and it was just amazing to be in the sun and we even took a day trip to Fuerteventura. I spent days at the beach, a day at the races and went to a party in a park (festival). I got super into blogging and this month kick-started me to blogging every day!
This month saw me blog 34 times which is impressive, I got super into it and I was lucky to win Chi Chi’s blogger competition which saw me win £200 worth of dresses. August also saw me dress up as Sandy from Grease, See the Saturdays and Mcfly and dress up for Ladies Day at The Races. I also turned 19, which was just celebrated with a shopping trip to Leeds.
This was a pretty exciting month which saw me return to University. The first trip of September was to London for Fashion Week, It was all exciting and we got to also dine in fab restaurants and see Wicked the musical. I also saw Harry Styles in the flesh. We then caught the Eurostar to Paris for a few days of sightseeing and chilling and a day at Disneyland. The week after we returned to London for iTunes Festival to see Robin Thicke which was interesting, to say the least. I then decided it was time to eventually show up to Uni 😉 I also got to work with Matalan and take part in the Jet2 competition which I came runner up in!
This month saw another trip to London where I attended Zatchels Press Day and Duo’s blogger event and also was a runner up in their competition. Grand Designs and The National Wedding Show was also on the list of events of October which I attended with my mum. My blog was 5th on Bloglovin’s up and coming blogs which made my week!
This was the month of work, lots of blogging and lots of Uni work. It all started to get Christmas-y and the German Market arrived to my excitement. I worked with some amazing companies with my blog such as Bank, John Lewis and Sour Cherry. This was probably the quietest month of the year. It was just good to get my head down and work. I finally saw the Arctic Monkeys in concert after years of waiting then cancelling the October date, I finally got to see them and they do live up to the hype.
Finally, We’re in December. I feel like so many achievements were made. As I previously said I’m now up to 1,000 followers and halfway through University. I went to the Clothes Show Live as a blogger and honestly met some lovely people and hung out with some celebs and little old me got to go backstage and also sit front row! I also had a few days in London attending Press Days and parties which I would never have thought that such opportunities would come my way.
Ready to go into 2014, I cannot wait to see what will be waiting for me! Looking back on all the things I have seen and done this year, I have been so fortunate and lucky! I’d also like to wish everyone a Happy New Year!
