My Stay At The Hotel Indigo, York

A couple of weeks ago, I turned the grand age of 24 and to mark the occasion, my boyfriend and I went on a little road trip. We started off in York before heading over to Liverpool, Chester and then on to Manchester. York is basically my second home, it’s about an hour away making it the perfect place for a stop off. The Hotel Indigo York had also invited us for a stay and we couldn’t wait to check out the hotel. I’ve previously visited the hotel which is on Walmgate; a short walk from the city centre for…

Tasting the new menu at The Cosy Club, York

A few weeks ago, I headed over to York to try out the new menu at The Cosy Club. The restaurant is located down Fossgate in one of my favourite areas and if you’re familiar with York, you might remember that this property used to be a huge vintage store! I’ve previously dined at The Cosy Club before but only from their lunchtime menu which is served until 5pm and has some deals! It was my boyfriends first time here and we were both excited to see what was on the new menu. There was also a new drinks menu…

What did the UK’s cities used to look like?

Have you ever wondered (or even reminisced) about what a stroll around your closest UK city was like, pre-gentrification?  Urban regeneration and revitalisation have reshaped the profile and population of large swathes of UK cities over the past few decades. In place of the old, in has swept a new breed of affluent and younger aspirational inhabitants. It’s fair to say that many of the physical changes would make it hard to recognise your own city even if you had been on a hiatus for the past 20 years.  With a nostalgic nod to the bustling UK cities of yesteryear,…

The new Spring Menu at The Botanist, York

It’s no secret that one of my favourite places for food & cocktails in York is The Botanist. I was so excited to hear about the release of their Spring Menu with some tasty new additions. Last week, my boyfriend and I headed over to York for date night at The Botanist which is located down the famous cobbled Stonegate on the previous premises of Mulberry Hall. No matter which branch of The Botanist I’ve visited, the decor is unbelievable. With vines hanging from the ceiling, big cosy chairs and a lively atmosphere. We were seated in the upstairs dining…

The Gin Festival 2018, York

A couple of weeks ago, My Mum and I had a little trip over to York for the Gin Festival held at The Barbican. Each weekend the festival is held in a different city offering a huge variety of different types of gin, entertainment and even masterclasses. I actually went to the festival last year and really enjoyed myself, I wasn’t a huge fan of Gin at the time but my love for the tipple has grown in the past 12 months along with the festival it seemed. The Gin Festival is split up into three different sessions; Friday Evening,…
