Decorating with the Cosmopolitan Collection at Desenio

If you’ve been following me for a long time, you’ll know that I’m a big fan of Desenio and their fabulous range of prints. They have just recently released a new studio collection called “Cosmopolitan” featuring some gorgeous photographs from some of my favourite cities. The collection features Paris, New York and London. Travelling is obviously a big part of my life and this collection is a great way to incorporate travel into my interior at home.  NYC Taxi, New York Skyline, Top of The Rock When browsing the Cosmopolitan line, I’m not going to lie to you, I struggled…

The Highline & First Day on Trek America #2

My Travel Diary posts were going so well, I managed to get the first one published right off the bat. Since starting my Trek America trip, I’ve barely had time to get my laptop out. It’s actually been more than a week since my first post but we’re already in Texas and have covered Philadelphia, DC, Nashville, Memphis & New Orleans. On my last day in New York, I started the day walking The Highline as I really wanted to visit some sights I’ve never done in the city. The Highline actually started right around the corner from my hotel…

Welcome to New York #1

I’ve officially started my nine week trip across America and Canada. On Tuesday, I flew from Manchester Airport to New York JFK to embark on my crazy solo trip. I can’t believe I actually made it across the Atlantic and WITHOUT any tears! I arrived in New York late afternoon and got a taxi into Manhattan. I’m staying at The Jane Hotel in Greenwich Village which is such a cute little affordable hotel. The lobby is literally JUST like the Tower of Terror at Disney. The rooms are very cosy but overall, it’s an amazing price for New York. I’ll…

My Perfect 48 Hours in New York City

I’m already counting down the says until I return to my favourite city in the world; New York. If you don’t know already, I’m heading to America for nine whole weeks at the end of the year. I’ve totally not being banging on about it 24/7. If all goes to plan, I’ll be visiting in New York TWICE. New York will be my first stop before heading off on Trek America. Then at the beginning of December, I’ll be back and I’ll be fulfilling one of my dreams of visiting at Christmas. As you can imagine I’m planning like a…

The New York Christmas Shopping Guide

Ahh… Shopping and Travelling; my two favourite things. My favourite place? New York City of course. When visiting America, it’s been known that I can go slightly overboard with the shopping. I’m always wanting to get a good deal or buy unique items unavailable in the UK. I do try and do a bit of research and work out what is worth buying with the current exchange rate. Cheapflights and the Post Office have teamed up to create a Christmas Shopping Guide. With Cheapflights offering well, cheap flights over to the states and the Post Office offering the most used currency…

Five Reasons to Buy a City Pass

If you haven’t gathered by some of my previous travel posts, I love the planning aspect. I love sitting down and researching where I can go, what I can see and where I can eat. A good itinerary really helps me get the most out of my trip. I know a lot of people just like going with the flow but I’m not one of those people. I like to know what I’m doing and have options for attractions and restaurants so I’m not wasting a lot of time deciding what’s going on. One thing I always look out for…
