When thinking about who would be my main beauty inspiration, I’d have to say it would be someone like Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. She’s just insanely beautiful, her make-up is always on point with a gorgeous dewy complexion. Beauty Base recently challenged me to create a look inspired by someone so I chose RHW! Beauty Base is an online store which carries many brands such as LA Girl, Real Techniques, Milani and high street favourites such as Rimmel and Bourjois.
I decided to go for a look all by the brand Milani. I’ve not used anything from Milani but I’ve heard beauty bloggers going wild for it. Especially in America where the brand is more widely available. I started off with foundations and the Milani Conceal + Perfect 2in1 Foundation in the shade 01 Creamy Vanilla*. The only problem with buying foundation online is the shades are a little bit of a stab in the dark. I could’ve probably done with a lighter shade but this one would probably work in the Summer months when I’m a little more tanned. I found that the foundation went on perfectly, I was really impressed with the consistency and application for such an affordable foundation. The foundation also had quite a dewy finish, perfect for creating a look inspired by Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.
Whenever I think about Rosie Huntington-Whiteley it’s always her glowy and fresh skin which just stands out. When choosing the Milani Baked bronzer*, I decided to go for the shade glow. I don’t think I’ve used a baked bronzer in a very long time, it’s not the best product for contouring the cheekbones but it does leave a sparkle on the skin. The product I was most excited to try from Milani was their blushers as I’ve heard so much about them. To tell you the truth, I’m not even a big Blusher wearer but I think things are changing. I picked up the Milani Rose Powder Blush in Romantic Rose*. What a gorgeous shade and I love that it moulded into a rose. I was really impressed with this product and the shade was perfect for me, just gently brightening up the cheeks.
On to one of the most important parts of the look, highlighter, of course. I’m a big fan of my highlighter and the Milani Strobelight Instant Glow Powder in Afterglow* is a new favourite of mine. There were six shades to choose from but Afterglow seems perfect for that subtle glow without being too over the top. This is a product, I can now see myself wearing every day.
Moving on to the eyes. I was unsure what I wanted to do with the eyes. Rosie Huntington Whiteley usually either keeps it really simple or goes for a smokey look if she’s on the red carpet. As I was going for an everyday look, I decided to pick up the Milani Everyday Eyes Palette in Plum Basics*. I thought there was a good mix of shades in this palette and I have to say, they are really pigmented too. I took the second to left matte brown shade to the crease to create some subtle definition on the eye before adding the golden shimmer tones.
After adding a little bit of mascara, we were finally on to the lips. I chose the Milani Colour Statement Matte Lipstick in Naked*. I really loved the shade of the lipstick but it’s maybe a little darker than my regular nude lip and what you would see RHW wearing. However, I really liked this lipstick though, for a matte shade, it was super creamy and not at all drying on the lips.
There we have the final look, granted I don’t look like a supermodel. I wish. I’ve enjoyed trying out a few bits from Milani and would really recommend the blushers and highlighters. They are both going to be added to my everyday make-up routine. They were also both key items into creating a simple glowy and radiant look inspired by Rosie Huntington Whitely.
