As the New Year draws in its hard not to think about plans for the upcoming year. I’ve got absolutely nothing booked for 2019 and I’m desperate for some adventures. Over the Christmas Break, I received the loveliest hamper from Jet2.com with some delicious treats from the Christmas Markets around Europe. If you didn’t know already, Jet2 actually have a city break section on their website with a whole host of destinations across Europe and even New York!
In 2019, my plan is to explore more European destinations. Jet2 City Breaks offer so many destinations and the best thing is that their affordable packages include flights, hotel and 22kg baggage! I’m not usually fussed with having to travel hand luggage only but it’s rather ideal in Winter so you can bring lot’s of jumpers and layers with you. I’ve been throwing some ideas around of places to visit in 2019 and I’ve been on the Jet2 website for inspiration.
Budapest has been on my Travel Wishlist for the last couple of years but I’m determined to make it happen in 2019. I’m actually hoping to do a multi-city trip and also visit Vienna and Bratislava as both cities aren’t too far away. There’s so much to see in Budapest and I’d love to visit the Thermal Baths there. The city has some incredible architecture from the spectacular Parliament Building which sits on the Danube River to Buda Castle. Hopefully a trip to Budapest will be on the horizon very soon!
If I could add all of Italy on my Travel Wishlist I would. There are just so many beautiful destinations from Venice to Sorrento but the capital; Rome is the top of my list. There’s so many incredible sights to visit within the city which holds so much history, art and of course; Pizza and Gelato! Not forgetting, you can also visit the world’s smallest country; The Vatican City. I’m not going to lie, One of the main reasons is to visit the Trevi Fountain. I’ve wanted to visit since it featured on the Lizzie Maguire movie back in the day.
Poland is somewhere I’ve not really thought about visiting but in the last sort of year, it’s popped up on my radar. Everyone seems to be visiting at the moment and Krakow is a very popular destination. One of the great things is that it’s a very affordable option where a beer will only cost on average £1.50! The city has a lot of history but if that’s not of interest the nightlife is also great with plenty of cost cellar bars. Jet2 have a range of city breaks for under £200 for a 3 night break including flights, baggage and breakfast!
I visited Rotterdam briefly last year for the Traverse Conference and I was so pleasantly surprised. It’s only about 40 minutes from Amsterdam and Jet2 City Breaks offer a range of trips to the second biggest city in The Netherlands. I’d also really love to go back to Rotterdam as there’s actually so much to see and it’s a really laidback place with some great foodie places. The architechture is so unique with the quirky cube houses. Also the Food Market is pretty amazing with so many tasty options surrounded by an artwork adorned ceiling.
As i said before, You can actually book to go to New York with Jet2 City Breaks. They have 28 flights run to the States between October and the New Year. It’s a great affordable option to go and soak up the Festive atmosphere or even visit for Thanksgiving. I’ve been to New York three times now and visiting at Christmas was so incredibly magical. Seeing the Rockefeller Christmas Tree was a dream come true for me and it’s just amazing to see all of the shops decorated. Saks 5th Avenue also put on a spectacular Christmas show, I think it was Snow White & the Seven Dwarves inspired show in 2017. I’m hoping to re-visit in 2019 and take my Mum in December.
Did you know that Jet2 did City Breaks? Have you visited any of these places? Where is on your list for 2019?
Don’t forget there is still time to enter my 12 Days of Christmas Giveaways!
