I absolutely love trying out new make-up and there has been a few recent additions to my make-up bag. I’ve picked up a couple of items from Notino.co.uk to try out over the last month or so and I thought I’d give you my first impressions. Notino.co.uk stocks all sorts from make-up, fragrances, haircare and skincare and there’s some great offers on at the moment with 60% off some items!
First up, we’ve got the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Sleeping Cream*, an overnight mask. I’ve been a massive fan of the Origins Madeline Shaw Sleeping Mask and I’ve been hunting down a more affordable option so decided to try this one out. I feel like they are two completely different products and whilst the Neutrogena mask is very hydrating, it doesn’t smell as good as the Origins one! However, it is half the price and I think it’s worth the price to keep your skin looking fresh and hydrated when you wake up.
Next up, I also picked up the Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Foundation*. It’s not exactly a first impression as I’ve been using this for years but I thought I’d include this in my haul. I’ve got to say that this foundation is hands down my favourite drug store foundation. It offers a great coverage and the shade 52 Vanilla is a great shade for me. It claims to last for 16 hours, I’m not sure about that as I do have to touch it up if I’m going out at night but you can’t fault this product especially for such an affordable price point. I’d love to try more drug store foundations though, do let me know below your favourites.
It’s quite rare for me to be trying to Mascara’s as usually just stick to what I know – Benefit, YSL & Tarte. The Maybelline Total Temptation Mascara* caught my eye, I think I saw it on someone’s Instagram and I decided to give it a go. I’ve been using it for a couple of weeks now and I’m actually really impressed. I think the brush could be better but it does give me really long and full lashes. I think I’d even go as far as saying this is a product I would re-purchase!
The Max Factor Honey Lacquer Lip Glosses* were on offer on Notino.co.uk so I decided to try them out. I’m not really a gloss kinda girl, I’m more for the matte lips. I got the Honey Laquers in Honey Rose and Honey Love and they really are lovely glosses, not too messy at all. Honey Nude is a gorgeous nude, it’s nothing too over the top and a shade you could wear every day. Honey Rose is a soft pink and not something I would really gravitate towards. The nude is definitely a hit but I’m still unsure about Honey Rose.
Finally, we’ve got a major cult beauty product which I’ve never tried before.. until now! The YSL Touche Éclat Radiant Touch Concealer* is one of the top selling beauty products in the UK and I’m so happy to finally try it. I may do a full review once I’ve used it a little more because I’ve actually only tried it out a couple of times now. I’ve read a few things about this product how it’s not nessecarily a concealer and more of highlighter and retouching pen. Whilst I’ve used it under my eyes, it’s not the best at concealing my dark circles but I can see how it would be good to highlight certain areas of the face. I’m going to play about with it a little more and report back.
