A Luxury Woodland Stay at The North Star Club, Sancton

North Star Club has been on my radar for quite a while. It’s somewhere that seemed to be everywhere on social media and it looked simply magical. I was beyond excited to be staying there a couple of weeks ago on a cosy weekend retreat with my boyfriend. North Star Club is nestled in the woodlands beside the very small village of Sancton in North Yorkshire and actually is only about an hour away from where I live.

Before our arrival, I was e-mailed a little guide on what to expect from our luxury glamping experience. I’ve never really stayed anywhere like this before but I was so excited to embrace the outdoors and cosy up by the fire. North Star Club is home to eight luxury woodland cabins and ours was the White Rose Hideaway Suite. In addition to the lodges, there’s The Woodshed which is a very lovely communal area and also where we picked up our keys.

The White Rose Suite is one of the Hideaway Suites for two people. The wooden cabin is set back from the main pathway so it feels very private. I was completely blown away when we got inside. It was just the cosiest little rustic lodge with faux fur throws and candles everywhere. My kind of place. I think all the photos speak for themselves, it was just the prettiest little retreat. The king size bed just looked ever so comfy and inviting. Each cabin has it’s own wood burner, so we could sit by the fire and enjoy a couple of drinks.

There’s no TV’s in the lodges, barely any phone signal so it really is a break from the outside world. It felt so good to just switch off from social media and have some good quality time just relaxing. Before getting started with the dinner, we went for a little wander in the area, although I’m not too sure it was a proper trial. All I’m saying, thank goodness I brought my wellies otherwise it could’ve got very messy.

Food was available to be ordered from The Star at Sancton which is a local award winning pub. I think they send across packages to be cooked on the BBQ or alternatively you can go to the pub for food. We decided to bring our own food with us for dinner and breakfast. There’s nothing better than burgers and hot dogs are there? Each cabin has their own BBQ on the veranda and there’s also a small fridge, kettle, plates and cutlery in the kitchen. All the BBQ equipment was available from The Woodshed which you can just help yourself to whatever you want.

North Star Club is like nowhere I’ve ever stayed before. I wouldn’t even call it a glamping experience as it felt so luxurious and cosy. I wonder how many times I’ve called this place cosy?! It really was though. We absolutely loved our stay in The White Rose cabin, it’s the perfect break for couples! Although, some of the other cabins can accommodate up to six people which would be great for a girls weekend or hen parties. It’s so good to find such a gorgeous retreat on our doorstep. Hopefully, we will be back in the future!

XOXO
