Whenever I’ve asked for foundation recommendations, there’s always one that gets mentioned and that’s the Estée Lauder Double Wear Foundation. I’ve finally taken the plunge and tried it out for myself and I thought I’d write up a review and let you know if it really lives up to the hype. I got colour matched in-store before picking up the Double Wear Foundation from Notino.co.uk* where it’s currently on offer for less than £30. Delivery from Notino.co.uk was really quick and came within a couple of days. I’ll be sharing a few other items which I picked up very soon.
Although I was in between the shades Bone and Ecru, I decided to go for Ecru which was the darker one of the two as It’ll be a perfect match during the Summer. The foundation comes in a fancy glass bottle which you would want as it’s on the high-end spectrum of make-up. However, it doesn’t come with a pump so it’s the ever so annoying problem of tipping the product out and living in fear of it going everywhere. Similar to my favourite Nars Sheer Glow which also doesn’t come with a pump, you can buy one which I think I will end up doing.
I first applied the foundation with my Peaches & Cream Foundation Brush. Usually, I go for the Real Techniques Sponge but I’m preferring the Brush for this foundation. The foundation applies really well and offers amazing coverage without looking cakey. I’ve been really impressed with how high coverage the Double Wear Foundation is. I’ve found that it’s very long lasting and really does Stay-in-place like it promises. In addition to all of this, a little bit of this product goes a long way.
Overall, I’ve been so impressed with the Estée Lauder Double Wear Foundation. This product really does live up to the hype. I think I might actually prefer this one over my old favourite Nars Sheer Glow. That’s a huge statement for me as Sheer Glow has been a staple in my makeup bag for the last couple of years. I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to try the Double Wear Foundation, especially after having it recommended by so many different people. I certainly wish that I’d tried it sooner.
Have you tried the Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation before? Did you like it? What’s your favourite foundation to use?
