At the moment, I’m currently planning my next trip which I’ll be heading off to Holland at the end of May. I’ve probably mentioned it before but the annual travel blogging conference, Traverse is taking place in Rotterdam this year. I decided to do a little bit of travelling before and after the conference. I’ll be visiting Amsterdam, Rotterdam before heading down to visit my friend in Zurich. As always, I get a little carried away with myself when it comes to travel plans and I’ve also been thinking about ticking off some other European cities before coming home. These are five European cities on my radar for my trip. Let me know if you’ve been to any of them!
Basel
Basel would be a great place to visit as it’s only a short train journey away from Zurich as they are both Swiss cities. I’ve seen a few other bloggers visit Basel in the past and it looks like a really lovely city located on the River Rhine. Beverly wrote a couple of posts on her winter weekend trip and the photos make want to visit asap! I’ve also been looking at flight prices and it’s far cheaper to fly out of Basel than Zurich and gives me more options of where to go next…
Prague
I think I’ve probably mentioned Prague a few times on my blog and my desire to visit. The amount of times I’ve had this city recommended to me is unbelievable. I’m not surprised as it looks like such a beautiful city filled with delicious food, incredible architecture and I hear the nightlife is pretty great.. and cheap!
Venice
After visiting Milan last Summer as part of the Cheapflights Challenge, I’ve been desperate to go back to Italy. Venice is one of those must-visit bucket list cities. You can get some really great last minute holidays at the moment even from the UK so Venice is very much on my radar right now. Italy is a country I’d love to explore a lot more, every city is calling my name. A visit to Venice wouldn’t be complete without plenty of gelato, pizza, a gondola ride and maybe even a trip to neighbouring island Burano.
Budapest
Another city, I’ve probably included in every travel bucket list is Budapest. I’d love to visit this city in the Summer. It just seems like a great place to wander along the River taking in all the sights. Out of all the places, I think Budapest is looking the most likely.
I’ve also been looking into Budafest which is an electronic music festival taking place at the end of August. It looks pretty insane and includes parties in the thermal baths. I believe it’s the first year of the festival so it would be interesting to see what it’s like! There’s also Sziget Festival which is taking place in Budapest and the line-up looks amazing with bands such as Arctic Monkeys, Mumford & Sons and Gorillaz headlining.
Stockholm
Finally, I’m included in a Nordic city into the mix. I’m absolutely desperate to visit Stockholm and Milly’s recent visit has just made me want to go even more. Can we just take a moment to stand in awe of how incredible the subway stations look in this city?! They look like you’ve been transported to another world. This city just looks so effortlessly cool and let’s be honest, one of the main reasons I want to visit is to go to the Abba Museum.
Have you visited any of these European cities? Where do you think I should go?
XOXO
