It’s certainly been a while since my last beauty favourites post. I was actually going to do a 2017 round-up but I didn’t have that many items. Whilst out in the USA, I did pick up quite a few new items from Sephora. I’ve also been meaning to do a Haul post but a lot will be included in this post. You’ll probably know by now, the contents of my make-up bag rarely change. Once I like something, I tend to re-purchase and use it like crazy. The past couple of months, however, has seen plenty of new additions which are now firm favourites.
Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Longwear Foundation Stick
The Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Longwear Foundation Stick* has changed my life. I started using this a couple of weeks ago and it’s become a firm favourite in my makeup bag. To tell you the truth, I’ve never actually used a foundation stick before as I thought it would be quite a thick consistency and just too much for my face to handle. Whilst the Lancome Foundation Stick offers a very high coverage, it doesn’t feel cakey but I do seem to be getting through it quite quickly.
Laura Mercier Loose Translucent Powder
The Laura Mercier Translucent Powder has been on my wishlist for the longest time. Every time I popped into Space:NK I’d pick it up and put it back down. Luckily, in the USA I had the excuse of being on holiday (which was an excuse I made for several large purchases). This powder really is a good as what everyone has hyped it up to be. It was also a miracle worker for just setting my make-up for the day and making it look pretty flawless. Although it’s a pretty pricey product, I’ll be re-purchasing this.
Narciso Rodriguez For Her Perfume
I bought a trio of Narciso Rodriguez perfumes in the Macy’s Black Friday Sale for only $25. They are only 10ml each but they are so handy for putting in your handbag and I thought that was a bargain! The set included For Her Eau de Parfum, For Her Eau de Toilette & For Her Fleur Musc and they all smell amazing. I’ll definitely be buying the full size of the Eau de Parfum which I’ve almost used up!
Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick
I love a good Matte Liquid Lipstick and the Anastasia Beverly Hills ones are some of the best I’ve ever tried. The shade Crush has been permanently on my lips since November. This lipstick doesn’t budge at all, it’s not drying at all and the pigment is also amazing. I bought them in a couple of other shades as on my last week in America, they were the star weekly offer in Sephora for only $11 each!
Peaches & Cream Brushes
Peaches & Cream is a brand that I discovered at the Clothes Show a couple of years ago and I was really impressed with their highlighters and pigments. I recently got the Face Brush Set from Pretty Little Thing* which includes four different synthetic brushes. For me, the Contour and Sculpt brushes have become new favourites of mine which I use every day. I’ve been using the sculpt brush for highlighting my cheekbones and it gives me a nice glow. They are really great quality and I’ll definitely look into getting some eye brushes next.
Sol De Janeiro Brazilian Bum Bum Cream
I’d heard all about the famous Bum Bum Cream online from several different YouTubers and when I spotted in Sephora, I knew I had to try it. I also managed to persuade all the girls I was with to pick up a pot too. This Brazillian cream smells heavenly! It claims to tighten, moisturise and basically work miracles on your behind. I wouldn’t say any miracles have taken place but it’s certainly a cream I’ll be repurchasing! I also really want to try out some of the other products in the range.
Iroha Nature Charcoal Peel-Off Mask
I’ve never heard of Iroha Nature before but randomly picked up their Charcoal Peel-Off Mask in Boots. It was around £5 and you can easily get several applications from one packet. I’ve been wanting to try one of these masks for ages but not spend a lot of money on them. This is a great affordable option that really gets rid off all the bad stuff lurking on your skin. Obviously, I’m such a bad blogger and have forgotten to take photos of this one item!
Hourglass Mineral Veil Primer
I can’t remember if I’ve mentioned the Hourglass Mineral Veil Primer before. I was previously using a tester of this and fell in love. It’s a pretty pricey product but I had a great $20 off coupon at Sephora so bit the bullet and bought it. This primer is a great base for your makeup and leaves your skin feeling so velvety and smooth.
