Although I’ve only just started my trip across America, I’m still planning ahead and one destination I’m super excited about is of course, Walt Disney World. I’ll be ending my nine week trip in the Sunshine State and I’ll also be celebrating Christmas at the most magical place on earth. After Halloween, the Disney Parks transform into Christmas heaven and there’s a few things I’m rather excited for;
Mickey’s Merry Christmas Party
On selected evenings, Magic Kingdom plays host to Mickey’s Merry Christmas Party. I actually went to the Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party back in 2015 and it was incredible so I can tell the Christmas part will also be well worth going to. You need to buy tickets to these events but Attraction Tickets Direct currently offer Halloween and Christmas Party Tickets cheaper than Disney themselves! The parties include exclusive character meets, the Christmas parade and fireworks show as well as shorter attraction wait times and delicious goodies around the parks. The event sells out more often than not, so pre-booking tickets is a good idea and also cheaper. You can also buy pretty much most of your Disney Holiday on the Attraction Tickets Direct website as they are now offering hotel and ticket packages!
Christmas Parade & Fireworks
There is nothing more special than watching the Disney Parade and Fireworks and it’s even more magical with the festive touch. One of my first memories was visiting Disneyland Paris at Christmas and seeing Santa so I can only imagine how amazing all the shows will be at Christmas in Walt Disney World.
Decorations & Twinkly Castle
Disney do nothing by halves and their Christmas decorations always look out of this world. I’m very much looking forward to getting some snaps of the Cinderella Castle all lit up with its twinkly décor. I’ll still be forever sad that they’ve got rid of the Osbourne Family Lights as I never got to see them but nothing will beat Christmas on Main Street USA.
As Walt Disney World is my last stop on my America trip, I’m hoping to do a bit of Christmas shopping. Although there are Christmas shops open all year round throughout the resort, I can imagine there will be a lot of festive merchandise. Let’s not even get started on all of the festive food that will be sold around the parks!
I’ve been doing a lot of research and found out that Disney gives some of it’s popular attractions such as the Jungle Cruise and It’s a small world a festive makeover. The Jungle Cruise becomes the Jingle Cruise, how amazing is that?!
Let me know down below if you’ve been to Walt Disney World at Christmas. What was your favourite thing about it? Don’t forget you can’t keep up with all my trip across my social media. I’ll also be posting another trip update very soon! It’s been a rather busy few days!
