I’ll hold my hands up and say that I’m not the biggest reader in the world but when I’m on holiday I end up reading four or five books in a week. Especially when I’m travelling long distance on planes, I like to have a book with me to keep my occupied. The guys over at Holiday Gems got in touch to see if I’d like to choose out some books to take away with me on my travels. I thought I would share which ones are currently on my reading list and would be perfect to take away on a last minute holiday.
My Not So Perfect Life – Sophie Kinsella
My favourite author is Sophie Kinsella and My Not So Perfect Life is her latest novel which was released in July. I love her style of writing and her books are hilarious and perfect for light reading on the sun lounger.
Shopaholic to the Rescue – Sophie Kinsella
Sophie Kinsella is the author of the Shopaholic series which was made into a movie ages ago. I think we’re on the eight book now and they just keep getting better and better. We’ve gone from London to New York to Hollywood and Shopaholic to the Rescue is now set in Vegas where shopaholic, Becky Bloomwood is getting herself in another major pickle.
Big Little Lies – Liane Moriarty
After watching Big Little Lies on Sky Atlantic a few months ago, I found out it was actually based on a book. The TV show was amazing with a star studded cast, I knew I had to pick up the book too. It’s a bit like Desperate Housewives but with potentially a lot more drama and mystery set on the coastline of California.
Scrappy Little Nobody – Anna Kendrick
Over the past couple of years, I’ve found myself reading more and more biographies and self-help books than novels. When I was scrolling through Amazon, I came across Anna Kendrick’s biography. I was completely unaware she’d even released one but it is hilarious. She’s one of my favourite actresses and people to follow on Twitter and her charming personality shines through on the pages. This is one of the better biographies I’ve read recently. I’ve found a lot of them to be quite hit and miss.
What have you been reading recently? Do you have any recommendations for books to take on travels?
XOXO
