It was a wonderful coincidence that I was invited to the House of Fraser SS17 press day when I was actually in London. I get serious cases of FOMO with living up North and missing out on some fab blogger events and press days. The House Of Fraser press day was held at One Marylebone where I’d previously been to an event with Heathrow Airport. Fun Fact: It’s also the venue where Tom Fletcher (from McFly) sung his famous wedding speech. Anyway, it’s a beautiful venue!
I was really excited to see what is in store for Spring/Summer 2017 in House of Fraser. First up, we went upstairs to the womenswear and accessories. I was immediately drawn to the beautiful handbags from brands such as Biba, Lulu Guinness, DKNY and Love Moschino. The piece that stood out to me were definitely the metallic backpack by Therapy. I also think that the embroidered Love Moschino bags are going to be a must-have item in the Summer.
The Womenswear range was split into five key trends and featured an array of brands which they sell in-store and online. There was plenty of floral embroidery, especially from Biba which I saw on this gorgeous bomber jacket. I also spotted an embroidered dress which I can’t remember which brand it was from. It was absolutely stunning and certainly my favourite item from the press day. Bright vibrant prints were seen throughout the Cuba Libre trend – we all know I love a good tropical print and I’m delighted that this trend isn’t going anywhere next Summer.
House of Fraser was also showcasing their activewear range at the press day. They had a selection of pieces from brands such as Mink Pink, Seafolly and Bjorn Borg. I love wearing vibrant and bright prints to the gym and there were some really lovely pieces. Who else gets motivated when they have nice new workout gear?
Downstairs was basically Pinterest heaven. I personally haven’t really checked out the homeware section in House Of Fraser before and everything was seriously dreamy. Junipa is a new addition to House of Fraser which will be launching this Spring/Summer inspired by Eastern interiors with a modern twist. Other brands such as Biba, Linea, Gray & Willow and Casa Couture all had different vibes. I loved the luxury glamour of Biba’s collection and the bright Mediterranean feel of the villa vista range by Linea Home.
The collections at the House Of Fraser press day has got me really excited for Summer. I’ve already got several items on my wishlist, all of the embroidered florals and that metallic backpack. Have you seen anything that has caught your eye?
