It’s time that I started posting about some of the new additions to my make-up bag over the past couple of months. The Guerlain Meteorite Illumination Powder Pearls* are completely an iconic product for the brand. Whenever I was at a Guerlain counter, I couldn’t help but have a little play around with them. I always remember when I was little, My Mum having some mineral pearls on her dressing table. I have no idea what brand they were but they were a staple item for her. The Guerlain Meteorite Pearls are the first that I’ve tried in my life. I’ve been using them for the past couple of months so I thought I would share my thoughts on how I’ve been getting along.
These pearls claim to minimise pores and brighten the skin. They certainly do brighten the skin and add radiance to your complexion. I have the meteorites in Clair 2 which I believe is the lightest one available. The pearls have slightly more of a shimmer than I originally expected but we all know I do love looking like a disco ball anyway. If you are using this as an all over face powder, just be careful with not going too overboard but the right amount can give you a lovely glow. I have used them for lightly highlighting the cheekbones. It’s not the most effective product I’ve used for highlighting but if you are looking for something quite subtle it’s worth giving it a go.
I feel like I need to talk about the beautiful packaging too. The pearls fill about half of the silver tub and the sponge sits on top. This is a product that would definitely not travel well though as the lid can easily come off. Oh! I also need to mention the smell of the pearls. I know some people don’t like it as it’s quite strong but I love it. The pearls have a violet scent which I just adore as they smell like the parma violet sweets!
The Guerlain Pearls are quite a pricey product but you can get them from Beautyspin.co.uk for around £35. I do really love the glow it gives my skin after applying my base. Although I’m really loving it, I’m not sure whether I would consider this a staple item in my make-up bag.
Have you used any powder pearls? Do you like Guerlain products?
