Holding up the traffic of London whilst on a Pedibus testing out the new Panasonic Lumix GX80 camera on Tower Bridge. Now, that’s got to be one of those ‘what is my life?’ moments. When Panasonic and Popcorn PR invited me down to London to try out their new Lumix GX80 camera in an on-the-go masterclass, I knew I couldn’t turn it down.
After meeting everyone at the Bermondsey Square Hotel for breakfast, we were shown the Panasonic Lumix GX80 Camera and wow, it looked good. The camera shoots videos in 4k and also captures stills from the footage in 4K photo’s. The camera also has a post focus feature, meaning you can pick out different focus points after you have taken the photo and even save them all. It’s so simple to explore different focus points on the touch screen. I’m going to be doing a full review of the camera very soon.
It was time to go out on the roads of London and test the cameras. If you don’t know what a Pedibus, it’s hard work. That’s what it is. At an average speed of 8mph we were away and heading towards London Bridge which was our first stop off. Offering beautiful views over the River Thames, Tower Bridge and The Shard.
Riding (very slowly) through the streets of The City, Everyone was stopping to take photos of the Pedibus. It certainly was a head turner. Our next well-deserved pit stop was St.Pauls cathedral where we refuelled with water and cookies. I’m thoroughly impressed with how the images have turned out.
Can you believe I’ve never been to Borough Market before? It’s been on my to-do list for the longest time but I’ve never got round to it. Borough Market is basically food heaven. Everything looked delicious and I will certainly be back soon. The market is also the perfect place to test out the post focus feature on the Panasonic Lumix Camera as there is so much going on. You can see below in the photo’s of the berries that they are the same photograph but with different focus points. I think this is a great feature as us bloggers love our blurry backgrounds.
The end was nigh, our last leg of the tour involved holding up most of the traffic in London as we sailed (well crawled) past the Tower of London. The most surreal moment of the day has got to be struggling to cross Tower Bridge with ‘Ain’t no mountain high enough’ blaring from the Pedibus. As we moved across the bridge, I was still able to capture crisp and clear images. I’ve also put the 4k video to the test by shooting a (very) short vlog. A little warning that the introduction is actually longer than the video but please do check it out!
A massive thank you to Panasonic and Popcorn PR for inviting me along to this masterclass. So far, I am loving the Panasonic Lumix camera and a full review will be coming soon! You can find more information on the Lumix GX80* here.
