I’m currently in the process of a HUGE clear out in order to make a start on my office. Whilst doing a bit of clearing up, I’ve come across boxes of old photographs from all my travels. I’ve been really fortunate to go on quite a few holidays which is probably why I now have the need to always have a trip booked. I thought it would make quite an interesting post to share some old photo’s from my holidays.
Los Angeles, Aged 18 months old. Go big or go home. My first trip was across the Atlantic to the west coast. I obviously don’t remember this trip but apparently the highlights were going to Disneyland, Santa Monica Pier and seeing Eddie Murphy get his star on the walk of fame. California is a place I am desperate to visit and my dream is to do a big road trip along the coast or even Route 66.
Disneyland Paris, Aged 4. Ahh, Disneyland. I’m guessing this is where the obsession started? I’m actually looking to book a little trip to Disneyland Paris for my 22nd birthday. I first went to Euro Disney back in 1998 on a big family trip via North Sea Ferries for their Christmas Celebrations. It was so magical.
Ibiza, Aged 5. WHOA. We’re going to Ibiza! As a five-year-old on the Island of Ibiza my family had to endure me singing that song for the whole two weeks we were there. I do love Ibiza, the island has got a lot to offer from some of the world’s best nightclubs to the beautiful old backstreets of Ibiza town.
Malta, Aged 6. Malta is a place I’m desperate to re-visit after meeting with the Visit Malta team at the Jet2Sunchester event. I can’t remember a lot of the trip, aside from a trip to Popeye Island. That is where the photo above was taken. Malta is really an up & coming place to visit as Valetta has been named the European Culture Capital for 2018, there’s the annual Isle of Malta Music Festival and of course the beautiful beaches of Gozo. I want to take a trip and see it all for myself!
Paris, Aged 13. Paris is always a good idea. I love this city so much that I took French at my GCSE’s just so I could go on the school trip. We actually went for Bastille Day which was such a fun experience seeing the parade along the Champs Elysees. In the evening, we saw the amazing fireworks show over the Eiffel Tower.
New York, Aged 17. A week before I turned eighteen, I took a little pre-birthday trip to the city that doesn’t sleep. New York is one of those places that everyone needs to visit once in their lifetime. It completely lived up to all my expectations and more. We did the typical touristy things such as going up the Empire State Building, seeing a broadway show and visiting the Statue of Liberty. There was of course, a lot of shopping involved too. You can see my New York posts here.
Barcelona, Aged 20. Last Year, I took the ultimate whirlwind trip to Barcelona. I was on a girl’s holiday staying about an hour outside of Barcelona. As always, I wanted to make the most out of my trip so we decided to go to Barcelona. We took an organized trip which was only about €25. It was so convenient as we managed to see so much in just a couple of hours. It is definitely a city I would love to go back and explore further. I feel like I’ve only had a taster.
Walt Disney World, Aged 21. You might have read about this trip as I was banging on about it for months. In fact, I’m still banging on about it. Last year I went to Walt Disney World in Florida for the first time. As a big Disney fan, visiting Walt Disney World has been something I have wanted to do for YEARS. We decided to book a trip for my 21st Birthday and in celebration of my graduation. It was the best three weeks filled with food, rides, incredible shows and of course meeting the main mouse himself. You can read more about it all here and I also have some Walt Disney World Vlogs here.
I’ve been incredibly lucky go on some amazing holidays. At the moment, I’m making it a priority to travel a lot more over the next couple of years.
Have you visited any of these places? Do you have any holidays booked?
