Last week, I travelled down to London for a couple of days. I was kindly invited to stay at the Travelodge in Covent Garden and I had also booked to see Mamma Mia the musical. It was a lovely little trip!
When we arrived in London, we caught the tube to Westfield Shopping Centre as it’s basically a shopper’s paradise. However, I didn’t manage to buy anything but It still baffles me how big it is there! We then made our way to the Travelodge in Covent Garden for the 3pm Check-In. The hotel is in a very central location on Drury Lane – Minutes from Tottenham Court Road and Covent Garden. The check-in was really easy and simple, we even used one of those do-it-yourself machines!
Our room was on the ground food so very easy to get to but unfortunately, it was quite noisy during the night. I guess it’s just down to been in central London where the traffic never stops. Apart from the noise issue, the room was great! The bed was king sized which was so comfortable. Travelodge is actually revamping their rooms so they are introducing king size beds in all their rooms.
The staff on the front desk of the hotel were unbelievably helpful. I’d forgotten my print out for the theatre booking and they kindly printed out for me and sorted out everything.
In the evening, we went for a meal at Sophie’s Steakhouse which I think it’s a pretty new restaurant to the Covent Garden area. We’d booked a two-course meal there with our theatre tickets to Mamma Mia for only £28 on LastMinute.com. The meal was amazing, very lovely for the price we’d paid. I chose the Grilled Chicken whilst Alex had the steak – They both came with fries and presented lovely. For dessert, I got the chocolate mousse and Alex had some sort of biscuit cheesecake. I’d very much recommend this place and very reasonably priced for the area. I’ll certainly be back in the future.
